Department of Baltimore County (BCDH) operates 8 Health Centers throughout the county. Department also Coordinates services at 8 Mental Health Centers and
5 Substance Abuse Centers and operates the Animal Control Unit and Shelter.
The BCDH is the government agency responsible for promoting and protecting the health of county residents. The primary functions of local health departments are to:
